Collection, Storage & Use
CFM is a full-service marketing and design agency. Under a contract with each of our Clients, CFM supports our Clients’ marketing efforts through the collection of their personal information, limited to customers’ names, postal address, electronic mail address, telephone numbers, IP addresses, and device information. We may also collect anonymous, non-personally identifiable information regarding your activities on our Clients’ websites (e.g., your IP address, page(s) visited, time of day, etc.).
In addition, we may collect data from “cookies.” A “cookie” is a small text file or text identifier placed on your computer to assist our Clients in providing customized services, including targeted marketing and advertising. From our Clients’ use of cookies, we collect data on their customers demographics, interests and behaviors while on their websites to better understand their preferences.
Our Clients may use both “session cookies,” “persistent cookies,” or “flash cookies.” A “session cookie” disappears after you close your browser. A “persistent cookie” remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to our Clients’ websites. “Flash cookies” are local stored objects to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on our Clients’ websites. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as are used for browser cookies. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser.
Clients may also use “web beacons” on their websites and e-mails, which are small electronic files sometimes referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs. We may use data obtained from those web beacons to obtain data regarding users who have visited those web pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (e.g., recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
All data that we collect from our Clients’ websites and emails are maintained by us in a secured encrypted cloud-based server and is used by us to create one or more databases, sales and marketing reports, and dashboards for those Clients, including reports on their website traffic. Except as we further describe here, we do not disclose your information to any person or entity outside of CFM’s employees, other than with that specific Client whose website directed you here and its agents, subsidiaries, affiliates and/or partners for the limited purposes described here. We may also disclose your personal information as required in cooperation with governmental authorities and in our sole discretion, we may access, preserve, and disclose information about you if we believe it is necessary or appropriate to comply with law enforcement requests and legal process, such as in connection with a court order or subpoena.
Note, many of our Clients own multiple dealerships and your information obtained by one of its dealerships may be utilized by the Client across all of its dealerships. We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, for any business purpose. We may share any information we receive with our vendors, contractors, service providers, and other third parties retained in connection with the provision of our services to our Clients or who we may use, from time to time, to support our business.
By consenting to this Privacy Policy, you understand and agree that CFM may collect, store, access, utilize and disclose that information as we have explained here. We retain your information for as long as our contractual relationship exists with a particular Client on whose website brought you to this Privacy Policy, or as necessary to achieve the purpose of the collection unless we are required by law to keep it longer.
